This Funky John Earley Home Is On the Market in Hillcrest

New, 3 comments

Here's a rare one: a house in D.C. designed by renowned architect and concrete connoisseur John Earley has hit the market. Most of Earley's work within the District is in the form of non-residential work like sculptures on the Dumbarton Bridge and the structures in Meridian Hill Park, but he was responsible for remodeling this little place at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue at one point. This three-bedroom home in Hillcrest has the mosaic touches and almost stucco-like concrete exterior for which his homes in Silver Spring are famed. Yet as desert-chic as the facade may look, the inside is all hardwood floors and "rest by the fire" warmth. It's also going for a pretty reasonable price of $549K.
