This Condo in Converted School Looks Oddly Un-School-Like

New, 2 comments

Converting an old or abandoned school into a condo is not a new concept in D.C. Heck, there are great examples in D.C. of churches and fire houses that have been converted into condos as well. However, an often stunning aspect of those conversions are details from the building's former life that remain. Yet, with the exception of the exterior, there are no reminders of the old school within the 1,131 square foot unit itself. The exposed brick and uniquely shaped windows reveal that this modern-looking apartment exists in a building from 1904, but somehow the "schoolhouse" feel is remarkably absent from this two bedroom condo. Ask is $547,650.
