Officials in Fairfax County know that they don't have enough affordable housing and have proposed a zoning change in order to build several rent-controlled buildings with primarily studio apartments. However, other city supervisors see this zoning change as a threat to the county's suburban lifestyle and have made some interesting slippery slope insinuations as to who would actually benefit from the construction of these apartments and what sorts of nefarious goings-on this change would lead to.
