Homes With History

At the tail end of last year a $7M home sold in Georgetown's East Village making it the priciest sale for that part of the nabe. The sellers were Gerald and Eden Rafshoon (if you know who the White House communications director was under President Jimmy Carter then you know who Gerald Rafshoon is) and they unloaded this historical home so they could downsize to elsewhere in the city. It was built by the mayor of Georgetown in 1800 and Thomas Jefferson himself was a guest once upon a time. Could this be good news for Dominique Strauss-Kahn and his (ex?) wife Anne Sinclair? Their home is but five blocks away and had trouble selling for $5.2M, then $4.2M, then $3.8M. [WaPo; previously]
