Jeff Black to Takoma Park; New Verizon Center Food; Heat Map

TAKOMA PARKJeff Black plans to open an American restaurant in Takoma Park, featuring a raw bar and plenty of seating, next fall.

HEAT MAP— Eater's monthly Heat Map update is here, featuring new additions Range, Hogo and Taylor Charles Steak & Ice.

PENN QUARTER— The Verizon Center's Acela Club has a new menu featuring local touches such as wings with mambo sauce and crab cakes.
BETHESDA— Local institution Foong-Lin, which closed this summer, has resurfaced within the Moon Gate restaurant in Bethesda.

H STREET NE Hikari Sushi and Sake bar opened this week after more than a year of construction. There are photos of the food and location online.

GEORGETOWN— A bakery and coffeehouse with wi-fi within Farmers Fishers Bakers called FirstBake will open next week.

DOWNTOWN— The first U.S. location of Energy Kitchen, a low calorie restaurant chain popular among celebrities, opened downtown. A grand opening is happening later in the month.

H STREET NE— There's a new chef over at The Queen Vic, Michael Bonk. Opening chef Ian Reeves has headed over to Red Rocks Pizzeria.
