Rise Development To Take On R.L. Christian Library Site

The brothers Miller—Dan and Ben—are fond of the word rise. They used it as a suffix for their crowdsourcing ventures Popularise and Fundrise and now it is flying solo as the name of their venture for a project on H Street NE. Rise Development is a subsidiary of their development company WestMill Capital that is going to develop the land at 1300 H Street NE (the former R.L. Christian Library site). The plan is for a 30-unit residential building, ground floor retail, 17 parking spaces, and 6 affordable dwelling units. They beat out five other bidders to win this project that they hope to fund using their Fundrise model of allowing individuals to invest in the project with small amounts of capital.
