Without further ado we bring you the winner of the 2012 vote for the Best Neighborhood of the Year. After a few close calls Anacostia brings home the metaphorical Curbed Cup beating out fifteen other neighborhoods with it sheer tenacity and determination. A little Twitter help from former mayor and current councilmember @marionbarryjr certainly helped this nabe with such a promising future enter the winner's circle. But all the work on the 11th Street Bridge, the Riverwalk Trail, Kenilworth Gardens, and events like Lumen8Anacostia have given this east of the river locale a few dozen reasons to be proud.
