A few months ago MRP Realty explored the possibility of building an addition to the large building at Washington Harbour. They own the retail and office space portions of the building and floated the idea of either an 88-unit residential addition or a 120-key hotel. But the condo owners of the same building caught wind of the idea and have filed an appeal saying it would 'diminish their quality of life'. While MRP didn't have any immediate plans to do anything the condo owners aren't taking any chances and hired the law firm Arent Fox LLP to represent them at the Board of Zoning Adjustments. Nothing like bringing one of the major DC law firms on to the scene to make everyone sit up and take notice.
