Rolling From The Red Derby

Welcome to Bar Crawl Living where we find some worthy domiciles within stumble distance of a neighborhood hotspot. If there's a place you want us to scope out, leave a comment or send word to our tipline.

For the first bar crawl of the series, we're hitting up the Red Derby and checking out the real estate scene in south Petworth and north CoHi. Now, you may think you need to be as tough as a soldier to roll with Derby's crowd, but in reality the vibe in the bar is like the vibe in the nabe: rough around the edges but still has its shit together. So throw back a can of beer, a shot of whiskey, and a bit of pickle juice, and get ready to call one of these spots the perfect place to take care of the Red Derby hangover.

1. 3900 14th St
Asking Price: $189,900
Square Feet: 456
What It's All About: Now here's a listing that should leave plenty of dollar$ in your pocket so you can buy rounds for your buddies. The studio in Randolph Towers has hit the market just a few days ago, so it's a baby listing. With onsite parking for only 10 G's, this is perfect for a first-time buyer looking to park himself, his hottie(s), and his set of wheels.

2. 1437 Spring Rd
Asking Price: $314,900
Square Feet: 689
What It's All About: We know sex sells, so maybe this has been on the market for a few months because there's nothing sexy about this pragmatic 2 bedroom (yes, 2 bedrooms in less than 700 sq.ft.), 1 bath garden-level condo. Its ask has been reduced from $324,900 and there's "ample street parking" in the nabe. The highlights are the jet tub and fireplace in the unit. Gotta get your rocks off where you can.

3. 3609 13th St
Asking Price: $459,000
Square Feet: 1,045
What It's All About: Turn up that bass! This is the perfect jewel to show your newly-discovered love that you found at the bar. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath Sapphire Condo is loaded with features that should get any red-blood real estate porn watcher hot and bothered. It's got a jetted shower, "imported Spanish tile" (because domestic Spanish tile is gauche), Brazilian tigerwood floors (whatever that is), and an "iPod docking and built-in speakers". And for something a bit more voyeuristic, take him or her or both to the roof deck for a little post-drinking action. Just make sure BT, the Doppler Effect, Bag Raiders, or another bangin' musician is blasting his beats.

4. 4024 14th St
Asking Price: $499,000
Square Feet: 1,300
What It's All About: Because parking will never be a problem here at the newly built Taylor Park Condos. Not that you should be driving post-bar hopping. But for this unit, you not only score 2 spacious bedrooms and 2.5 baths, but also a 2-car garage. Plus, this end unit has a den and private balcony. And the interior is clean and modern, with really open floor plans ensuring it's turnkey ready for this unit's buyer.
