Southwest ArtsFest This Weekend; Dawson's Market Opens

ROCKVILLE—This Saturday Dawson's Market (not to be confused with the teen angst series Dawson's Creek) will open in Rockville Town Square and the frivolity starts the evening before. See the schedule after the jump. [CurbedInbox]

SOUTHWEST—This weekend is the SW ArtsFest that will have neighborhood walking tours, a bike parade, performances, street vendors, hand dancing and, of course, art. [CurbedInbox]

Dawson's Market Pavilion on the Square Dedication and Friday Night Concert, Friday, September 28th

6:30 pm: Rockville Town Square celebrates their final Friday Night Live of the season with the band, Mambo Combo!

7:00 pm: Dedication of the Dawson's Market Pavilion by Mayor Marcuccio, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Federal Realty, Robin McBride, Dawson's Market owner, Rick Hood, and others.

7:30 pm: Performance by Mambo Combo.

Grand Opening Dawson's Market, Saturday, September 29th

7:00 am: Doors Open! Breakfast and coffee will be served.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Grand opening activities start and last all day:

• VisArts will host a cookie decorating station, pasta necklace making, chalkboard design and other kid friendly activities.

• Kids ages 5-12 are given the chance to design Dawson Market's next paper bag design.

• Enjoy live music on the Dawson's Market patio.

• Test your fruit & vegetable skills at our "Name That Produce" contest where you'll have the chance to win a $75.00 gift card to the store.
