GEORGETOWN— Proper Topper, the Gtown boutique owned by Anna Furhman, is now taking orders for the $395 Tracy Reese dress worn by FLOTUS at the Democratic Convention in Charlotte. Unfortunately, you'll have wait until November when the dress will be available. And yes, that means probably post-Election Day. [GeorgetownPatch]
SILVER SPRING—Shopping and networking and supporting a worthy cause makes a great event. This Saturday, the Ultimate Women's Shopping Boutique is hosting local vendors and giving away door prizes as customers "shop with a purpose". And a $1,500 donation will be made to the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to battle breast cancer. Proceeds from the event will fund the donation. [Washingtonian]
TYSONS GALLERIA— The launch of luxury retailers at Tysons Galleria continues unabated as Intermix and Mulberry move into the high-end shopping destination later this year. Coming on the heels of Lilly Pultizer's announcement it's coming to the mall, these retailers will join Henri Bendel's November opening. So much shopping. So little time. [TysonsCornerPatch]
ALEXANDRIA—The Old Boutique District is having its annual Scavenger Hunt during the weekend of September 21-23. Participants will have to hit 35 stores in Alexandria's Old Town with the chance to win a $3,500 shopping spree. Hunters who register early for the event increase their chances of winning the spree.
