Mt. Pleasant Library Re-Opens (Now Safe For Kids)

All photos from CORE.

The architecturally impressive roll out of libraries in DC continues, but this one is going to have facepaint. Mt. Pleasant's beloved library opened to the public again yesterday after being completely redesigned by the architects at CORE. Led by Dale Stewart, the building used about an $8M budget to bring the building up to code and make it more accessible to more people. Sky lights and bigger meetings rooms were another big part of the plan. There is a Grand Opening celebration on Sept. 15 with facepaint, a building workshop, music, storytelling, and an art class for teens. The full schedule is after the jump.
