PENN QUARTER—America's (and Michelle's) love of preppy, casual attire can continue unabated in DC as J.Crew opens on Penn Quarter's F St. With two levels of East Coast-inspired polos, khakis, and collegiate ties, J.Crew is yet another store that's hitting DC's growing shopping district. And this store opening has a killer promotion: Spend $250 bones and ladies receive a Timex watch and gents score an umbrella. [Penn Quarter Living]

RIGHT HERE—Local radio host Tommy McFly of "The Tommy Show" and Gilt are pairing up for the Gilt City Insiders Sale. The sale's got deals for both men and women with hot picks including Fujimar Restaurant, Alton Lane, the Grooming Lounge, and Nusta Spa. So she can score a mani-pedi and you can grab a very masculine straight razor shave. [Official Site]

PENTAGON CITY—Looking to go toe-to-toe with retail behemoth Apple, Microsoft is opening another store in NoVa, this time at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City. The Microsoft Store will open next week on Thursday, August 9, but if you want to see Weezer, you'll have to hit the store on Saturday, August 11. [Official Site] CORRECTION: The Weezer concert will take place at the Warner Theatre near The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City on Sat, Aug 11th, but if you want tickets you have to be one of the early birds when the store opens on August 9th.

GALLERY PLACE—Partnering with the design and architecture firm Gensler, Goodwill is going hipster with a pop-up store running from August 1-3 in the Pepco Edison Place Art Gallery. With vintage and newer fashions on sale, this could be a chance to help a good cause without emptying your wallet. [The Fashion of Goodwill]

BETHESDA— drybar is hitting the local market with October openings in Bethesda and Georgetown. With affordable blowouts and other things that people can do to women's hair, Capitol File talked with founder Alli Webb about the business of drybar. [Capitol File]

GEORGETOWN—Suitsupply continues to roll out the welcome mat in the city. The latest pics show Suitsupply is getting closer and closer to its much anticipated opening. We heard the recent Suitsupply party in Chicago was all the rage. [Mr. Suitsupply Instagram]
