Why Building A Bubble Outside The Hirshhorn Is A Good Idea

There's a giant bubble planned for one outdoor corner of the Hirshhorn museum as a way to create more public space during warmer months of the year. It hasn't been without controversy, of course, and one of the creative minds behind the project gave a TED talk earlier this year about how, and more importantly why, this forthcoming bubble is important. Click through to watch about twelve minutes of Liz Diller, of the lead architects Diller Scofido and Renfro, give more background to the project.
