The Ten Least Expensive Properties in Glover Park

Despite being Woodley Park's often-forgotten sister to the west, Glover Park is an affordable option for first-time homebuyers. And while Metro access is more of a challenge, there are plenty of buses along Mass and Wisconsin Aves. Or for really beating the traffic, you can always ask your neighbor VP Biden for a lift on Marine Two as it choppers in-and-out of the Naval Observatory.

10. 2339 40th Pl
Asking Price: $249,900
Square Feet: 525
Price Per Square Foot: $476
The Lowdown: We begin our stroll around Glover Park with this "AMAZING DEAL" for a 1 bedroom, 1 bath condo. It has plenty of fancy-sounding amenities, such as "European cabinets...Porcelanosa floor tiles-bath, Grohe faucets", and a stove with five burners.

9. 3901 Cathedral Ave
Asking Price: $249,900
Square Feet: 765
Price Per Square Foot: $327
The Lowdown: Reduced from $264,000, there's plenty of sun in this 1 bedroom, 1 bath condo. And it has laundry! (There's another exclamation point in the listing after the word 'etc.') And if you want "lush parkland" in the middle of the city, that's somewhere in the vicinity of this place.

8. 3900 Tunlaw Rd
Asking Price: $242,000
Square Feet: 750
Price Per Square Foot: $323
The Lowdown: This building has three of the today's listings, and this 1 bedroom, 1 bath coop is geared for a foodie in mind. Located minutes from Whole Foods and (arguably) "the best sushi spot in DC", the unit has been renovated and comes with $650 monthly HOAs. And there's a pic of jars of something on the kitchen counter. Not sure if it comes with the coop.

7. 3901 Cathedral Ave
Asking Price: $229,000
Square Feet: 531
Price Per Square Foot: $431
The Lowdown: We ask ourselves this every month when we pay our landlords: "Why rent when you can own?" And this affordable studio (or junior one bedroom) condo is in the same building as listing #9 and is ready for a new owner.

6. 4000 Cathedral Ave
Asking Price: $225,000
Square Feet: 615
Price Per Square Foot: $366
The Lowdown: This "LARGE" studio in The Westchester has an interesting feature we haven't seen in many places: "Custom cherry cabinet concealing a queen size Murphy bed." That's pretty awesome. What's not so awesome is the off-putting pillar near the front door.

5. 3051 Idaho Ave
Asking Price: $215,000
Square Feet: 398
Price Per Square Foot: $540
The Lowdown: Coming in at a smidgen under 400 sq.ft., this studio appears much larger in the pics. (Good job on the staging!) Located in a building near the National Cathedral and not far from Cleveland Park Metro, you'll have to wait until summer's end to bring your gin & tonics to the almost-complete roof deck.

4. 2655 41st St
Asking Price: $199,900
Square Feet: 578
Price Per Square Foot: $346
The Lowdown: If you want an investment opportunity, this 1 bedroom condo may (or may not) be the right place, especially since "investment opportunity" is written twice in the listing. Reduced from $264,900, the seller is looking for a cash buyer. But it's freshly painted and move-in ready, so those are pluses.

3. 2800 Wisconsin Ave
Asking Price: $199,000
Square Feet: 466
Price Per Square Foot: $427
The Lowdown: "Feels like a 1 bedroom!" But it's not. It's a studio in a FHA-approved building. Reduced by $900, this unit has high(ish) HOA fees at $419, but it includes all the utilities.

2. 3900 Tunlaw Rd
Asking Price: $176,000
Square Feet: 800
Price Per Square Foot: $220
The Lowdown: We know why this 1 bedroom coop has been on the market for more than a year: The monthly HOA is $865. And yes, that includes utilities, underlying mortgage, and taxes, but it's still rather hefty.

1. 3900 Tunlaw Rd
Asking Price: $175,000
Square Feet: ???
Price Per Square Foot: ???
The Lowdown: And this week's least expensive Least Expensive also has the least information about it. Located in the same coop building as listings #2 and #8, this 1 bedroom, 1 bath coop has a HOA of $571/monthly. Using listing #2's square footage and HOA as a guide, we're guessing this unit is around 530 sq.ft. But with no interior pics and other info, your guess is as good as ours.
