Affordable housing in the District is getting a veteran advocate, Michael Kelly. He will be the director of the Department of Housing and Community Development after a working in NYC and Philly for the last several years. Kelly's a Takoma resident and "his wish to return meshed with [Mayor] Gray’s desire to move more aggressively on affordable housing measures". So let's see if Kelly can deliver in a town where people are being increasingly priced out. [WaPo]
