The American Institute of Architects has announced their 2012 Housing Awards and local architect Robert Gurney had a winning design in the category of The One and Two Family Custom Residences. This Bethesda house is a perfect cube with a flat roof and is decidedly smaller than the other houses in this Edgemoore neighborhood at 2,200 square feet. Part of the goal was to have a smaller house so that more trees, landscaping, and privacy could be preserved. Gurney showed up here on Curbed earlier in the week with a glassy pool house as well as a few months ago when another Bethesda contemporary house of his hit the market.
