Susan Says No

The planned Eisenhower Memorial at Independence Ave SW is back in the news because Ike's granddaughter Susan Eisenhower still wants Gehry's design to be refined. And the biggest hurdle for the memorial is the proposed "80-foot-tall metal tapestries that will frame the memorial". But going back to the drawing board may cost "an additional $16 million on the memorial's estimated $112 million price tag and add significant delays". [previously; DCist]
