Georgetown's Friendly Estate Sells For Way Less Than Ask, Next Chapter In Saga To Begin

Right across from Tudor Place is a house that has seen its share of drama in the past few years. In 2006 former Washington Post exec Mark Teren bought it and tried to subdivide the land to build a second home. That plan was never approved, but he did start a complete renovation of the interior of the existing house. That project stalled and left the house as a shell that sold 'as is' to HM Georgetown LLC for $5M in March 2011. The property went back on the market last summer for $$7.9M and took a few price chops before selling for $6.2M earlier this month.
