Kellogg Brown And Root, the company that prefers to be known as KBR, has been awarded the contract to contribute to Founders Square—the mammoth development going in on Wilson Blvd over the next few years. Houston, Texas — March 29, 2012 — KBR (NYSE: KBR) announced today The Shooshan Company awarded the KBR Building Group a contract to provide construction services for The Place at Founders Square.
The Place—a part of Founders Square—is an approximate 1.2 million-square-foot, mixed-use development in Arlington, Va., and is designed for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification.
KBR Building Group will execute construction services for the 17-story, 238,060 square-foot residential tower, which will include design features such as a prominent curved window wall, a rooftop terrace with wood decking, two custom year-round spas, a resident-use bar and interior clubroom. Sustainable features include an energy efficient HVAC system, use of regional building materials, and water use reduction techniques for the building operations.
