Perhaps the hardest task to ask of a decorator is to create a space that is kid-friendly and classy enough to host fancy dinner parties. There's a house in DC's Kent neighborhood that needed those exact specifications and designer Darryl Carter was able to deliver. The upcoming issue of Veranda followed the project and you can get all the details when the magazine is out next week. We managed to get an early preview and have a few shots to share with you here. One of the biggest challenges was the dining room since it had to feel warm and inviting when the extended family was over, but turn into a more formal space when it came to entertaining. Click through the gallery to see how they found a way to do both.
