House Beautiful Teams With Sen. Kay Hagan To Promote American-Made Furniture

Next Tuesday Newell Turner, the editor-in-chief of House Beautiful, will speak at a press conference in conjunction with Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC) on the results of a survey about consumer preference for buying American-made furniture and American's buying habits. Hagan will also be on hand to discuss the health of the furniture industry in North Carolina, where American furniture has a long history of being manufactured. Also expected to attend are local designer Thomas Pheasant, James DeLorbe (chairman and CEO of MADE: in America) and Rachel Kohler (group president/interiors, Kohler Company’s Baker Furniture).

This event in is preparation for House Beautiful's annual chair giveaway which is taking place in DC this year. We'll have more information later today, but get your running shoes ready, Washington. On Wednesday and Thursday of next week nineteen designer chairs will be placed in different secret locations around the city—each chair ready to be snatched up by the first person who comes across it.
