Color it Green Campaign Comes To Washington Next Week

Earlier we mentioned a little something about free designer chairs showing up in secret locations around the city, so we're back with some more information. To celebrate House Beautiful's “All About Green” issue the magazine is launching the Color It Green Street Giveaway. This is their third annual Great American Chair Giveaway and they chose Washington D.C. as the recipient city this time around. (Last year the lucky town was Chicago, where pink chairs dotted the snowy landscape, and you can check out a Curbed video of one winner after the jump). Names like Arhaus, Duralee, and Baker Furniture are in the mix of designers whose chairs will be up for grabs.

That means that next week, on March 14th and 15th, nineteen designer chairs (each one of them different) will be placed throughout the city with clues about their location being revealed via Facebook and Twitter. The first person who finds each chair gets to keep it (did we mention, the chairs are totally free). A few weeks ago the HB staff were here taking some preview shots of the chairs so you can see what each one looks like, but these pictures are not necessarily the locations where the chairs will be next week (we have no info on that front, so don't try hitting us up for hints!). Over on Curbed National there are even more photos of the chairs in some iconic DC locations, so click over there for more examples of what you might find next week. They also have some info about a fact stunt, that in years past has involved Keanu Reeves.
