We have here a video presented by the White House as part of the initiative for the recent ground breaking of the National African Museum. The museum director describes the design decisions and stories behind some of the pieces that will be part of the collection. Freelong Adjaye Bond and SmithGroup won this highly publicized design competition back in 2008 and you can see some of their renderings in the photo gallery above. David Brody Bond, the design architect on the September 11th memorial, has also joined this team of firms to complete the project. If the name Adjaye sounds familiar it's because that group is the force behind the Bellevue library, which we profiled with some construction shots and a video interview with David Adjaye last month.
