Museum of African American History

On February 22nd (and just in time before African American History Month ends), the groundbreaking ceremony for the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture will take place at 14th Street and Constitution Avenue N.W. While Phylicia Rashad (a.k.a. Mrs. Huxtable) will be emceeing, the headliner will be President Obama. Other African American luminaries and musicians, such as the jazz pianist Jason Moran, are scheduled to attend. The museum is scheduled to open in 2015.
