Yesterday was the press preview for the brand new building by AvalonBay in the H Street District (actual address, 318 I street) and we got a chance to see a few units, plus that famous Twitter wall in the lobby. That wasn't the most amazing amenity since the closets are some of the largest for apartments in this price range ($1,600-$,2500+). This is all part of their design concept called AVA—and this building is one of about two dozen that are at some stage of development around the country, along with a few others that have already been completed. The concept centers around designing for young, urban, social lifestyles and it is apparent from the X-Box console in the common room to the USB ports in each unit's charging station (and the DIY buckets and changeable door pictures to name a few other things). See the full details in our photos from yesterday and check out the floorplans and video tour in our previous coverage. We also have an extra gallery of close-up detail shots inside the building after the jump. Leasing has only just begun and they are already right around 14% leased.
