Since it was announced that Living Social would lay off 160 DC employees (out of about 700 employees world wide) they aren't going to need as much space as they thought. That means their original plan to be the anchor tenant at an in-progress building at 655 New York Ave have been axed. They're also planning on getting out of three other spaces they've been occupying by subleasing them to other tenants. One of those spaces is in their celebrated building at 718 7th St in Chinatown where they hold events on-site. They'll still retain some use of the building but plan to lease out a full floor.
