Neighborhood Tempers Flare Over Backyard Rink

We'll begin with the beef before we get to the name dropping. The owners of this $4.8M?Wesley Heights home have installed an outdoor hockey rink that measures 30-by-64-feet so their two children can get in more ice time without having to be driven to Rockville.

Neighbors are not happy. Not with the construction noise, not with the trees that were cut down to accommodate the project, and not with the fact that they were in the dark about it being a hockey rink. Owner Brooke Colburn, a top suit at The Carlyle Group, doesn't seem too worried about the neighbors' complaints and says they're still welcome to send their kids over the play hockey. The home has probably seen its share of controversy before since Richard Nixon lived there while he was Vice President in the late 1950s.
