Expat Explains Eastern Market's Gentrifying Ways

Anna Fifield is the Washington correspondent for London's Financial Times and she has found renting in Eastern Market so lovely that she wrote about it for her paper. The cultural traditions gave her as much pause as her times in places like Iran or Korea thanks to groups like the National Rifle Association and the friendliness of the neighbors. Fifield was told that to fit in she "must get either a dog or a baby" and luckily she had a kid and now considers herself a card-carrying member of the mommy mafia.
