Washington, DC, November 2, 2012 –
Xtend Barre DC announced today that a new studio is opening in Washington, DC on November 10th at 1228 Blagden Alley NW? in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood. The Xtend Barre workout is a fast-paced, 55-minute full body immersion that fuses dance, Pilates and sculpting exercises at the ballet barre for a chiseled body – and fast.
"The Xtend Barre workout is truly the premier ballet barre workout currently available in the Washington region that tones the body and burns calories," said Kelly Griffith owner of Xtend Barre DC and Fuel Pilates. "It creates longer, leaner dancer-like bodies by incorporating strength, flexibility and endurance into one complete workout– something most workouts neglect."
"If you have limited time, Xtend Barre will take care of your upper body, abs, legs and butt in under an hour. If you go 3-4 times a week, it's the only workout you really need," added Griffith
The Xtend Barre workout combines the amazing results of dance with the principles of strength and safety in Pilates. The Xtend Barre system sculpts the body proportionally so that all body parts are equally challenged. This total body workout serves to strengthen, lengthen, and stretch the body from top to bottom. The end result is a long and lean physique? without added bulk.
Classes on Saturday, November 10 and Sunday, November 11 are free. To sign up please visit the Xtend Barre DC website at: http://xtendbarredc.com/.
"My daughter encouraged me to try Xtend Barre even though I was apprehensive – she had made it very clear that Xtend Barre is demanding but also rewarding," said client Marti Jackson. "I am currently 54 and started Xtend Barre a little over a year ago and believe it is the most fun, efficient and beneficial workout available. For 20 years I struggled with intermittent back pain – probably because of poor core strength – but that pain has been eliminated since I've become an Xtend Barre student. I am also stronger, slimmer and more confident. My goal wasn't to lose weight or drop sizes but both occurred."
Xtend Barre DC is located in the heart of Washington, DC' Mt. Vernon Square/Convention Center area. The studio's trainers are knowledgeable and experienced in the fitness and wellness field. Each trainer is certified in Pilates and Xtend Barre, and educated to modify workouts for beginners, prenatal clients or clients with injuries, but it can also be amplified for advanced clients that are looking for an extreme challenge.
"The studio is opening just in time for the holidays and offers an exciting and effective way to prevent the average five to ten pounds people tend to gain between Thanksgiving and Christmas," added Griffith.
The multi-level and varied class is geared to challenge bodies of any age, gender, or fitness background. Exercise is most efficient when you switch up your workout and challenge your body, which is why these classes are great for those who are stuck in their usual gym routines.
