ALEXANDRIA/em>—Keeping dollars local in Alexandria should be easy on Black Friday since stores will be opening at 6am the morning after Turkey Day. Stores will be giving discounts and to make the hassles of Black Friday shopping much less of a hassle, there will be free parking and a free King Street trolley. That should help lighten your shopping load a bit. [Shop Local Alexandria]

GEORGETOWN—Need to get start prepping for January's big inaugural shindigs? If you're planning on attending any parties for the inauguration of Obama Round #2, Hu's Wear is "hosting a pop-up inauguration salon" with plenty of gowns for top designers for 3 weeks.
