Welcome to Racked DC where we dig deep into the retail world and let you know about the latest happenings in fashion and shopping. Know of something interesting coming to town? Send the news into our tipline.

INTERWEBS—A locally-raised fashion start-up is challenging the dominance of Mr. Porter and other online men's boutiques . IKKON is the brainchild of Kara and Marisa Pazik and Kristen Pazik-Shevchenko and its their "love of fashion" that's giving these ladies the energy to get this venture off the group and get the city's men looking sharp. PETWORTH—This Friday is the opening party for Willow Fashion's new location at 843 Upshur in Petworth. With "unique clothing, accessories, gifts, and housewares at budget-friendly prices", shoppers can find wares "off the beaten path". The party starts bumping at 6pm and continues until 9pm. [PoP]

NAVY YARD—Last week, we spread the word on Worn Magazine's launch party at Capitol Skyline Hotel. This week, here are the pics of fashionable DC denizens who hit up the launch party and are making everyone else feel a bit more self-conscious about wearing his stained Old Navy hoodie. U STREET—This may not necessarily be about fashion but it is certainly about design, 2011 TED Prize winner and French artist JR will be at 1401 T St NW on October 9 and 10 to "install a civil-rights-themed work on the face of a building". With the arts scene become a legit scene in the city and the fact JR only has works in NYC and LA, this is hot art news for the DMV. [Refinery29]
