Jim Abdo's condo dreams might come true. The mighty developer has owned a piece of Rhode Island Avenue (behind Whole Foods) for a while without knowing what to do with it. Neighbors didn't like the 70-unit idea, but now Abdo is thinking it could become a boutique condo building with maybe as few as a dozen condos, but with many higher-end amenities. He's even flirting with the idea of having private elevators just like his Gaslight Square project in Clarendon. Planning is still in the very early stages and probably won't get going until 2014.
