White Flint, No Longer Content To Be The Neglected Step-Child Of Bethesda, Wants To Be Bigger, Better, Bolder

Montgomery County Planning Department via BethesdaNow

Yesterday the planners of Montgomery County agreed to approve the plans for White Flint Mall that aim to turn those acres into a much less depressing place in the hopes people might actually want to go there. The mega-project will bring millions of square feet of apartments, office space for the masses, and a new elementary school to accommodate the surge in population that comes along with new living spaces. There's some debate over the exact details of who is going to pay for the elementary school, but the major components of the vision got the okay from the Board.
