Eastbanc Seeks Change Of Plan For West End Properties

New, 1 comment

Tonight's the night for another Zoning Commission meeting to hear testimony about what should happen to firehouse, police station, and library around the 2300 blocks of L and M Streets. The District has given Eastbanc the right to develop these parcels as high-end condos and rentals in partial exchange for bringing a new library and fire station into the development, as well as set aside some units for affordable housing. At least that was the initial plan. Eastbanc has now filed for several changes, including one to have the affordable housing requirement waived so the project can remain economically viable (according a Dec 21st article in the not-online Georgetown Current). Tonight's meeting is at the DC Office of Zoning at 441 4th Street NW, Second floor South at 6:30.
