The ill-fated Shaw's Tavern that was supposed to open this summer has had new life breathed into it by a management team that includes general manager Reza Akhavan (from Front Page) and chef Joel Hatton (from Leopold's). The peeps over at Eater have an in-depth interview about what their plans are for the restaurant and how soon they expect to be ready to open. The only disappointing news is that the residential units planned for the upper floors will now be commercial space because, puzzlingly, the owners were being charged at a commercial tax rate and won't be able to get a refund.
