ALEXANDRIA—The King Street mainstay Old Town Theater is closing after a year of bad ticket sales. Owner Roger Fons sold it to Robert J. Kaufman (president of PMA Properties) in October who will probably rent it out as retail space. Fons cited a number of reasons for the decline in sales, including bad movies, an increase in parking fees, and the King Street Trolley that took people from the Metro to the Waterfront but 'skipped everything in between'.
