Burger King Delivers to McDonald's; Retro Ray's Opens

VIDEO INTERLUDE—Now that Burger King has begun testing a delivery service in the DC suburbs, Eater decided to conduct the ultimate test: Will Burger King deliver to McDonald's? The answer is yes, though the delivery guy draws the line at actually stepping into the restaurant. Here's full video of the test.

COURTHOUSE—Unpredictable restaurateur Michael Landrum has opened up a bistro called Retro Ray's next to Ray's the Steaks offering a circa-2005 Ray's the Steaks menu — prices and all.

ATLAS DISTRICT—H Street's Smith Commons recently celebrated its first anniversary and assistant general manager Anna-Marie Ashe chatted with Eater about the lessons learned in the first year. She also shared observations on how H Street NE has changed dramatically in that short amount of time.

DEL RAY—Next week, former Evening Star Cafe chef Will Artley is hosting a pop-up restaurant in the Alexandria restaurant space next to Pork Barrel BBQ. He shares details of the dinner with Eater, including the possibility of some "hot young chefs" joining him.

ADAMS MORGAN—The long-awaited Mintwood Place will open to the public on Sunday with the food stylings of chef Cedric Maupillier. Eater has the menu.

ZOMG CUPCAKES—DC is now home to cupcakes made with local craft beer. This week, Hello Cupcake and Chocolate City Beer announced that they've teamed up on a cupcake named the DC Love Child made with Chocolate City's Cerveza Nacional lager.
