Trailer Park Lawsuits

The owner of Holly Acres mobile home park is suing the Prince William County government for $8M because the county failed to prevent flooding that left many of the park's residents homeless. The owner claims the September flooding from Tropical Storm Lee was caused by improper drainage, and the county government supposedly knew this and "acted improperly when trailers were condemned and bulldozed in the aftermath of the storm". This isn't the county's only lawsuit citing Holly Acres: the Board of Zoning Appeals also claims the local government "erred" when it destroyed the park's trailers. [WaPo]—George Perkins
