FAST FOOD—Select Burger King locations in the DC area have been test-driving delivery service that the company just might be rolling out nationally should all go well. There are three locations in Maryland and another one out in Springfield, Virginia.
EXPANSIONWIRE—Chipotle's new concept ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen opened in Dupont Circle this past fall and Chipotle reps confirm to Eater that they are already getting set for a second location here in the Washington area.
RECEIPTROCITY—A server from one of the local Austin Grill restaurants was lucky enough to receive a tip of zero dollars from one of his diners — and a note that claimed the diner's time was "worth more" than the server. Eater has the receipt.
U STREET—Much-loved local pizzaiolo Edan MacQuaid will be opening his very own pizza place in partnership with Local 16's Aman Ayoubi. It'll be going into the space on 14th Street that Ayoubi marked out years ago for a spot named Local 14 which never came to be.
U STREET—The guys behind Taylor Gourmet announced this week that their newly opened 14th Street location will be serving breakfast hoagies on the weekend — and risotto balls stuffed with sausage, bacon, pork roll and American cheese. Eater has the full menu.
