FOGGY BOTTOM—There's officially a new lunch option in Foggy Bottom, as restaurateur Jeff Tunks has opened his new fast-casual burger place Burger, Tap & Shake on Pennsylvania Avenue. The menu includes menu includes a plain burger to which you can add toppings, plus seven specialty burgers that range from a pork-and-veal bratwurst burger to a falafel burger for the vegetarians. There's also booze and boozy milkshakes.
SHAW—A new neighborhood tavern called the Boundary Stone opened in Shaw this week with a library of whiskeys and a DC Brau chicken sandwich.
ATLAS DISTRICT—H Street's Toki Underground announced this week that it'll be hosting a pretty sweet pop-up in October featuring chef and Eater National Top Chef Masters recapper Eddie Huang. There will be ramen and there will be baos from Huang's New York City restaurant Baohaus.
ADAMS MORGAN—The renovations to the upper level of Asylum are officially complete and the owners opened their new beer-barbecue-bourbon bar Smoke & Barrel earlier this week. Eater has the menu.
MT. VERNON SQUARE—Highly acclaimed pastry chef Chris Ford abruptly left his post at Rogue 24 just two months after the restaurant opened in Blagden Alley. This is the latest in a spate of bad news for the restaurant.
