Magnet High School Expanding; Washington Monument Still Closed

FAIRFAX COUNTY—The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science And Technology is getting ready to build a big addition that will expand the space by about forty-five percent. Anticipated cost is around $85M. [Patch]

THE MALL—The Washington Monument will remain closed indefinitely because of earthquake damage. Starting tomorrow engineers are going to rappel down the sides of the building to check for exterior damage. [WaPo]
