Our cousins at Curbed Atlanta tipped us off to this unusual ranking of the world's cities and its enough to make that whole DC inferiority complex thing get a little bigger. The people at the Globalization and World Cities Network (GaWC) rank cities based on 'their connectivity and place among a global system' and then group them into categories with emasculating titles such as: Alpha++ or Alpha+. We don't show up until the third category, Alpha, and we're at the bottom of that one. Not only do we not earn a coveted plus sign (+), we got beat by places like Toronto. For a much fuller chart that takes things all the way down to a category called Sufficiency, click on over.
