Two Milestones For Capital Bikeshare; Median BIDness; More!

CONNECTICUT AVE—Last week the Golden Triangle BID hosted a ribbon cutting along Connecticut Avenue (onlookers pictured at right). This is for a median project that won't impact traffic, but will add 3,000 square feet of green space when it is completed. [CurbedInbox]

16TH & U—Not only is today Capital Bikeshare's birthday, but today is the day it logged its millionth ride. From the press release: At 7:15 this morning, an annual member checked out a bike at 16th and U Streets, NW and docked it about 15 minutes later at Lamont and Mount Pleasant Streets. It was a well timed ride: it was the 1 millionth tripped logged on a Capital Bikeshare bike since the District and Arlington launched the system on September 20, 2010. [CurbedInbox]

USA—The EPA announced today that 25 percent of all single-family homes built nationally in 2010 earned EPA’s Energy Star. That's over 126,000 homes. [Curbed Inbox]
