Progress At Chipotle's New Concept; District Of Pi Now Open

This week's top dish from Eater DC, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

DUPONT CIRCLE—Chipotle is opening the first location of its new Asian concept, ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen, right here in DC. It's supposed to open this summer, so what's happening now that it is September? Well, they are hiring and it looks like things are moving right along. Could be soon.

PENN QUARTER—District of Pi opened up its brick-and-mortar shop (after running a food truck here for months already) this week in Penn Quarter. Eater got a look inside at the pizzeria with a mezzanine overlooking a main atrium level.

PENN QUARTERMinibar reopened this week, after temporarily shuttering to make way for José Andrés' historical America Eats Tavern. But you probably can't get in until October anyway.

DUPONT CIRCLE—In this week's edition of Shit People Steal, Casa Nonna general manager Adam Sanders offers a week of amnesty to all the people who have been stealing his restaurant's wooden eggs. Also, thieves get a free scoop of gelato if they turn in an egg.
