The First Year of Ted's Bulletin; A Pizzeria Loses Its Pizzaiolo

CAPITOL HILL—Eater chatted with Ted's Bulletin owner Perry Smith and chef Eric Brannon about the diner's first anniversary on Barracks Row. They shared how homemade Pop Tarts turned into a thing and what it was like to have President Obama in the house.

BETHESDA—Acclaimed Naples-born pizzaiolo Dino Santonicola says he's leaving Pizzeria da Marco, just a few short months after it opened in Bethesda. His last day will be September 11.

LOGAN CIRCLE—A new restaurant named The Pig is coming to 14th Street early next year. It's owned by the folks behind Logan Tavern, Commissary, The Heights and Grillfish, and — as its name would indicate — it will be serving a lot of pork.

ATLAS DISTRICT—Chef Adam Stein left the kitchen at the Queen Vic this week, and the gastropub has already found a replacement in Ian Reeves.

TAKOMA—Local vegan-and-kosher-soup delivery company Soupergirl is opening up its first retail location in Takoma in just about two weeks' time.
