Ballsy Fraudster

If you would like to pay off your mortgage, sell your house, and then distribute the profits to friends and family, just don't pretend you're Hank Paulson when you try to do it. A man in Bowie sent a $353,000 money order to Citibank indicating the money was, 'drawn on the account of the Secretary of the Treasury Hank M. Paulson, Jr. in order to satisfy the final payment for a property in Bowie, Maryland.' The only problem was he wasn't Hank Paulson. He was an imposter who had tried this gig before for a smaller amount of money, but was denied. His second attempt was successful until the Feds caught up with him. [BusinessInsider via Fishbowl]
