Former Hangout For Teenage Suburbanites To Become Townhouses

The dilapidated parking lot at the corner of Gallows Road and Lee Highway in Fairfax that used to house the Merrifield Multiplex Cinema will become 112 townhomes and a slew of retail options—including a Matchbox, Taylor Gourmet, and MOM's Organic Market. They've come up with the name Mosaic District to describe this new 'urban neighborhood' which is one way to subtly acknowledge the demographic melting pot of Merrifield. EYA Developers will take on the project and deliver the first homes by fall of 2012. Prices are expected to start in the $500,000 range.
