A Sneak Peek Inside Rogue 24; Good Stuff Eatery's Expansion

BLAGDEN ALLEY—Chef RJ Cooper's Rogue 24 is opening next week and Eater has your inside look at the restaurant housed in a renovated 1920s car garage that aims to blend rough edges with finesse design-wise. Oh, and the kitchen is in the middle of the dining room.

CRYSTAL CITY—Spike Mendelsohn's Good Stuff Eatery has officially signed a lease in Crystal City and hopes to open up shop there by January. The burger joint also has eyes on Georgetown for their third expansion, but nothing has been signed there yet.

FARRAGUT SQUARE—In a departure from his fancy Kaz Sushi Bistro, Kaz Okochi has opened a new customizable sushi joint downtown named Oh Fish. There are all kinds of ingredients from which to choose in making your perfect maki, plus a miso soup dispenser in the house.

PENN QUARTER—The head chef at the José Andrés pop-up America Eats Tavern, Richard Brandenburg, is departing for a new gig as director of culinary strategy for the Capitol City Market.

SW WATERFRONTTop Chef Just Desserts announced the contestants for its second season and among them is DC's own Matthew Petersen, executive pastry chef for CityZen and Sou'Wester at the Mandarin Oriental.
