The first local passive house has finished construction and is opening its doors for curious onlookers and potential buyers. They held their first open house this past weekend and will have several more over the coming weeks. Anyone is welcome, even if they aren't planning on buying this house but might be interested in purchasing a passive house in the future. The house is a classic American foursquare design with five bedrooms and 4.5 baths. It is practically airtight and heats and cools itself with a little help from a wall of south facing windows, temperature-controlled awnings, and a sophisticated ventilation system.
